Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN, working as an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in 2016. Her daughter is television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her abilities were crucial in helping her land her first post as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she worked with the producers of programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then she was hired by it was the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sport reporter. She relocated into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on Fox2 News, the Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to immigration and drug trafficking both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she was the reporter for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of nine p.m. newscast, which was in English and also reporting for the 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. They eventually moved in Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on the month of November in 1985. There is also a sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico in search of the US and settled in Miami. She divorced her parents shortly thereafter and, in 1995 she tied the knot with a naval designer called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 due to kidney cancer. In June of 2006, she visited an entire week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta she was a high school senior with a plan of what she envisioned her future career would be like, visited Mount Union University to see whether the university was suitable for her. She was in love with the campus. They also offered her the program she was interested in. After completing her studies, she was accepted to the University for a master's degree in media studies. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the director for WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a participant. The professor who taught her Mark Bergmann inspired her by his passion in journalism. Additionally, he profoundly influenced her.
